Yea, this month has been great for TX and CA setting new records.  Â
Looking at charts from this time just a year ago, the change is dramatic year over year. Â
It seems that each week, CAISO has experimented with lower and lowing NG on the grid. Today they dropped below 1.5GW on NG on the grid for a long period.  The rest (>15GW) all renewables plus Diablo Canyon, and exporting significant energy too while dumping >3GW into batteries for the evening.Â

Needs to be 100% all of the time.

does this have to do with the high winds?

Wonder if the panhandle wildfires are shutting down some generation

That’s going to make everyone gay.

But ma grid! Cya later federally regulated isos.
60% of the time, it works every time
[I remain skeptical](https://yaleclimateconnections.org/2023/02/us-state-with-most-renewable-energy-production/)
No doubt that pisses them off
Shhh don’t tell any Texans
Damn treehugger Texans. Commie pinkos.
Yiss
Wait. Is that good or bad in Texas?
Good, so when can we expect our electricity to be cheaper?
Whelp, time to move the “renewables cannot ever be more than x% of the grid” goalpost. Again.
Turns out connect and manage is a great way to get more renewables on the grid.
I posted this deep in the comments, but this site is a great resource for this type of thing:

Yeah, but how much was Clean Coal??
Despite the political environment being against renewables, the free market makes the optimal choices.
