    This headline is misleading. The cost increases they’re talking about is due to the owners of wind farms lying about how much they would produce during periods of curtailment to take advantage of a subsidy that’s in place. This would be solved via effective regulation and reforming the market, yet the headline makes it seem as if wind technologies directly cause the cost overrun.

    Ideally, you’d actually want the price of electricity during these periods of potential overproduction to drop into the negative, which would effectively cause producers to actively want to install battery storage systems to be able to sell the electricity during peak demand rather than having to curtail.
