 It’s not commercialized yet, but starting to look like random cells giving meaningful efficiency gains really are on the immediate horizon.Â
 No word on degradation / panel lifespan, though, which has been a continued concern for perovskites. Or, at this point, cost compared to ever cheaper silicon cells.Â
 Still, even if it’s signfiicantly more expensive per panel, higher efficiency panels could be very attractive for applications where labor costs dominate and space is constrained, like rooftop solar.
