I guess coordinating spin and lies is beneath him….

I mean it’s kinda of a cliche to reference 1984 but goddamn.
> Over the weekend, J.D. Vance tried to argue that Donald Trump will not target his political enemies if he’s reelected president. Yet at around the same time, Trump was confirming the opposite point with a new rant Fox News, declaring flatly that he’ll use the military to target the “enemy within.” Indeed, Trump regularly says openly at his rallies that in a second term, he will persecute unnamed enemies of MAGA.

Vance wanted access to the room where the deals are made, and chained his soul to Trump. How’s that working out, JD?
Everything that Trump touches turns to shit. Pence, the GOP, the presidency. The list is both long and still growing. And now, JD is getting a taste of what he signed up for.

It’s clear Trump isn’t hiding his intentions anymore. His threats to use military power against “enemies” are pretty alarming, and it just makes Vance’s spin look totally out of touch with reality.

The post underscores a clear contradiction between J.D. Vances claims and Trumps rhetoric. While Vance downplays the threat to political opponents, Trump own statements about using military force against the enemy within reveal a troubling authoritarian agenda. This highlights the risks of enabling such rhetoric and the potential abuse of power in a second term.

Trump’s rants make it clear he’s not just bluffing about going after his enemies—he’s dead serious. Vance’s spin is just wishful thinking against a backdrop of real threats.

It’s wild how Trump can flip the script so fast while Vance tries to downplay it, Trump’s just out here promising to unleash the military on his foes, showing exactly how serious he is about using power to settle scores.

Yet they probably didn’t lose a single vote. There are no gotchas at this point. If you were planning on voting Trump after the debate there is practically nothing that will change your mind.

There’s not a lot of coordination on messaging in the Trump/Vance campaign, is there?

These things are planned, not accidental, gaffes, or disagreements. Trump says one thing, Vance or someone else says another contradictory thing, the public hears the version that makes them feel good individually, and the media plays along to avoid appearing biased, while those paying attention wonder how the hell Trump can be within spitting distance of winning at this point.
The answer for how he’s so close is because the GOP platform is “say whatever the hell it takes to climb to power so we can pull up the ladder behind us” while the majority of news outlets are reporting on bus strandings and dance parties as if that is the story.
