    lol @ India

    > India had said earlier it was withdrawing its diplomats, but the Canadian official says India’s announcement came after Canada had declared high commissioner Sanjay Kumar Verma and five other diplomats persona non grata.

    > You can’t fire me, I quit!

  2. This is a growing issue…It’s looking like India has been operating multiple assassinations and attempts in Canada. That is a form of invasion, not respecting laws and borders.

…Why would we not publicly announce that when it was declared? Clearly the intention wasn’t to allow India to save face, since we’re now effectively calling them liars for their own announcement that he would be withdrawn.

Finally. Trying to mend fences with India is pointless with Modi and their surge of extreme Hindu nationalism. They are obsessed with Canada as they think that bullying a smaller country will make them look strong and everyone will call them a superpower lol

  5. Given the assassinations, the the lack of co-operation on gangs extorting Indian businesses in Canada to collect money for entities in India as well as the constant scams running out of there and I consider India to be hostile to Canada.

  6. Fun fact: “ambassadors” between Commonwealth counties are often stylized as *High Commissioner*. This is an outgrowth of a time when the Dominions needed representation in London, but as they weren’t technically “foreign”, it didn’t seem proper to call them representatives “ambassadors”.
