    I was confused by the quote at first, but I guess when there’s so little land in the area, decisive land power becomes all the more important.

    Aircraft carriers probably help, though.

    I don’t ever want to see it, but just as how drones and new war tech has turned Europe back to dug in trench warfare, it will be interesting to see how it changes island hopping strategies

    Might be wrong but I think the deal is if China gets Taiwan deep seaports it can reach out into the Pacific.
