The FBI conducted a sham investigation into Brett Kavanaugh. Surprised?

The real story here is that the FBI was WILLING to make it a sham investigation instead of doing their jobs. I guess Trump really got his money’s worth when he put Christopher Wray in charge.

Christopher Wray, by the way, is still head of the FBI and nothing has been done to correct that.

Well, to be fair it’s a sham Supreme Court. And Kavanaugh is a sham justice. Why not a sham investigation? /s

Now there’s something for Comer to really sink his teeth into. I’m sure he’ll get on that forthwith. Right?

Why is this all of a sudden in the news again?

We knew this when it was happening.

    > Back in 2018, when Christine Blasey Ford, Deborah Ramirez, and others accused then supreme court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, the powerful testimony of Blasey Ford before the Senate judiciary committee briefly seemed like it might derail the nomination.

    > There were multiple allegations against Kavanaugh, and witnesses to his alleged misconduct with women – a seemingly unending number of former college classmates who had seen a drunken Kavanaugh pull his penis out at Yale and shove it into a freshman's face, for instance – were calling in with what they felt was urgent information about the judge's character.

    > Several of the senators who went on to vote to confirm Kavanaugh cited the FBI investigation as their justification for doing so: after all, the bureau had not found any corroborating evidence.

  6. You forgot the subtitle:
    With George Bush Jr’s backing.

Not enough coverage in Bush’s cold calling campaign behind the scenes to get Kavanaugh nominated. Both entitled Yale guys. Skull and Bones?
    Edit:typo

  7. They did not ‘investigate’ at all, which includes broad powers to follow evidence.

They were instructed to ‘check’ a few very specific things…and nothing else.

The Trump toady FBI Director Christopher Wray is still running the FBI. He pushed back hard on searching Mar-a-Lago and had to be forced to do his job. Do not be surprised if he anounces an October Surprise sham investigation against Harris, with his corrupt boss Garland standing beside him at the press conference.

Of course they did. But would it really matter? There was nothing that would stop his confirmation.

I hate that we find things out like this after and we’re just kinda like “ah well our hands our tied, what’s done is done”

  11. I’m not totally surprised. I mean when the right constantly says they don’t trust the FBI, and then most of their accusations are confessions, it’s almost as though they don’t trust the FBI because they know things like this. That kavenaugh is a member of SCOTUS because they were willing to look the other way. Hmm

  12. I don’t like how the media, who ignored this sham while it was happening, is now writing headlines implying that we people are ignored his sham while it was happening.

Bush Sr did the same thing with Thomas. Read Jane Mayer’s book Strange Justice from mid 90s. Democrats get steamrolled every time !

  14. The boorishness and cavalier association with the rule of law is just more of the same from the GOP. That their “leaders” continue to in election in spite of it says as much about our country as it does them as individuals. Shameful!

  15. Stupid question, but is there a reason they can’t reopen this investigation? If there’s something there or if there’s not, we should know. Double jeopardy wouldn’t apply since he wasn’t charged with anything, so is anything else stopping it outside of political will? Could the next FBI director open that file if he wanted to?

  16. So explain this, Trump was able to fire anyone he wanted and appoint an acting official for as long as he wanted. Why is the living fuck did Biden not do this? So many corrupt, brain dead, idiots that should have been fired and replaced.

  17. IIRC, Kavanaugh *also* perjured himself at confirmation hearings in 2004 and 2006, and never should have even been in the position to perjure himself at SCOTUS hearings in 2018.

  18. No question the choice of Garland as AG is Biden’s absolute worst move but keeping Wray at the FBI is a hard second.
