  1. >DeSantis and his allies are already spending large sums of taxpayer dollars to fight Amendment 4, which would enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution if voted into law in November. His “election police” have interrogated and intimidated residents who signed petitions to put it on the ballot. His administration created a publicly funded, state-run website condemning the amendment, and has run ads promoting the current law, which bans abortions after six weeks. Now, however, DeSantis is escalating the battle: On Oct. 3, his Department of Health sent [a letter](https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/25194950/fl-doh-letter.pdf) to at least one local NBC affiliate suggesting that prosecutors could bring criminal charges against the TV station for airing ads that encourage residents to vote for the amendment.

Buddy, a chunk of your state is about to go missing in a couple days. Think your priorities are skewed a bit.

  3. Anyone who votes for Republicans like DeSantis or Trump is voting for a fascist future. Apparently MAGA really stands for Make America Fascist.

  4. Fucking Nazi fucking Republicans. God dammit I was raised on Goldwater and Roosevelt. Wtf is going on with the fucking GOP. I’ll never vote for the damn (R) again.

Wasn’t it such a great idea to bring it back to the states! Georgia’s abortion laws just changed twice in a matter of days. This is why Doctors have no clue what they can legally do.

Wait the governor of the state is using state funds to campaign/lobby against a ballot initiative.

Sounds like a huge over extenstion of authority, possibly illegal in some way.

Oh wait its simply DeSatan, so it is just business as usual.

He would loose the lawsuit because, the advertisements fall under the 1st Amendment. Isn’t this type of stuff about how newspapers or TV stations have a first amendment right as to the ads? I remember that whenNYC’s MTA prevented a controversial ad, the courts found that denying the ad was violating the 1st Amendment.

Oh good. This is the perfect thing to focus on as a hurricane is about to destroy one of your cities.

Uh, **1st Amendment…** Republicans proving once again that they have absolutely no fucking clue what it is and means.

  10. Sounds like we’ve finally found that tyrannical government for which the second amendment was created.

  11. One of the strongest hurricanes on record threatens to engulf much of the state of Florida. What may happen, along with the many misfortunes the state has suffered already, will put the final nails into Governor Meatball’s political coffin.

Little Lord Farquaad is still bitter about getting humiliated on the national stage.

Just wow. What a blatant abuse of power and violation of 1st amendment rights.

DeSantis should be sent to prison.

  14. “Wait – there’s more than one amendment to the, umm, whatever that document is?”
