He’s so blatantly racist. It’s disheartening how many people agree with him or are too afraid to stand up. We need to do better as a country.

So he’s just openly advocating for eugenics?
TintedApostle on
“For eugenicists, the social ills of modern society—criminality, mental illness, alcoholism, and even poverty—stemmed from hereditary factors. Supporters of eugenic theory did not believe that these problems resulted from environmental factors, such as the rapid industrialization and urbanization of the late 19th century in Europe and North America. Rather, they advanced the science of eugenics to address what they regarded as a decline in public health and morality.
Eugenicists had three primary objectives. First, they sought to discover “hereditary” traits that contributed to societal ills. Second, they aimed to develop biological solutions to these problems. Finally, eugenicists sought to campaign for public health measures to combat them.”

I’m reading “The Coming of the Third Reich” by Richard J. Evans and the mirroring of rhetoric used to describe non-Germans in early 20th Century Germany is basically 1:1 with right-wingers in the US.

And “good Christian”, speaker Mike Johnson, blames Democrats for the hateful rhetoric…
There is simply no such thing as a decent Republican. All the decent ones ripped up their memberships a long time ago. All that is left is hate-filled bigots and dogmatic zealots who lust for power to hurt others.

His mother was an immigrant. His grandfather was an immigrant. He is married to an immigrant. Wonder if he thinks he has bad genes.
To the conservatives lurking in this thread: Care to defend this?
(Yes, you’ll probably be downvoted, but that is a small price to pay for coming to the defense of your beloved leader. Your fellow conservative patriots will applaud you.)

Not possible. MLK, a lifelong Republican, put all right wing race essentialism out to pasture upon giving his “content of their character” speech. He then immediately died and said/did nothing else. Now everyone, including his Holiness Trump, is completely race neutral.

That was the rationale for the Immigration Act of 1924. And while the restrictions have changed since then, they have never been abolished.
That was also the rationale for forced sterilization, and part of the rationale for segregation, and so on.

A lot of things I can say about this comment, I’ll go with a different tack since everyone else is already pointing out how Nazi it is. When I was studying at UCLA, I took a course on the politics of sex and gender in Latin America, that went into the “cleanliness eugenics” a lot of the countries did back in the early 20th century, as well as the early American eugenics movements and such, and so much of what Trump and the “race realists” of the alt-right and more, it’s all just a rehash of a hundred years ago. And has me seriously contemplating that should Trump be reelected and his mass deportation scheme fall apart, that they would do stuff liek forced sterilization (it’s happened before as well https://www.pbs.org/newshour/health/analysis-californias-forced-sterilization-programs-once-harmed-thousands-especially-latinas) before extermination.
