So good! He nailed how nonsensical it is for “undecided voters” to demand specificity from Harris, but not DT, & the disconnect between how he’s thought of by (alleged) undecideds & the gibberish he spouts when asked to answer specific questions…
Some of my favorite detailed (/s) platform items on his website:
* REBUILD OUR CITIES, INCLUDING WASHINGTON DC, MAKING THEM SAFE, CLEAN, AND BEAUTIFUL AGAIN. (Questions: would all our cities get rebuilt or just ones in certain parts of the country? If they’re already newish type cities, do they still have to get rebuilt?)
* DEPORT PRO-HAMAS RADICALS AND MAKE OUR COLLEGE CAMPUSES SAFE AND PATRIOTIC AGAIN (Questions: what exactly is the criteria for “pro Hamas radical”? Will there be some sort of a patriotism/anti-hamas doc all college students are required to sign in order not to get deported….? Can US citizens be legally deported?)
* PREVENT WORLD WAR THREE, RESTORE PEACE IN EUROPE AND IN THE MIDDLE EAST, AND BUILD A GREAT IRON DOME MISSILE DEFENSE SHIELD OVER OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY — ALL MADE IN AMERICA (Awesome! No questions, no details needed—we just trust in your really big brain!! 🧠)

I just don’t understand why journalists can’t hold him accountable to actually answer their questions.
How hard is it to say “You didnt answer the question”. Or “please provide specifics” and just keep repeating that.
Instead, they let him ramble for 10 minutes about nonsense and then they simply move on to another question.

That was amazing. But also tragic that a late night comedy show is one of few media outlets that do actual journalism – that is an accurate portrayal of Trump v Harris
I feel at this point that Jon Stewart is just making silly faces and playing to the studio audience for cheap laughs. I mean – what else can he do? He’s completely deconstructed the logic (or lack thereof) of conservative media and politics for almost 20 years, and it feels like he’s doing nothing more than perpetually repeating himself (which, given American politics circa 2024, he most certainly is). I’m sure he knows that (hence cutting back to one night a week), but I wish his recent monologues were funnier.
