‘Florida is in play’: Democrats put money into states where they were struggling

  1. If it’s Texas and Florida, the money might be more for the Senate races, where the Democratic candidates are in striking distance. I don’t see either state going for Kamala Harris, but getting either of those Senate seats would be huge. Purging Scott and Cruz would be big wins for everyone.

  2. In South Florida, I’m seeing a lot of TV ads for Senate and a ton for the abortion rights and recreational marijuana initiatives, but nothing really on the presidential level. No Kamala or Trump ads yet. What are they waiting for?

  3. Winning those states might not be in play, but forcing the GOP to spend a lot campaigning in states that should be safe for them normally is a good thing.

  4. Just remind the survivors of Helene where the rescue supplies are coming from and which party voted to keep FEMA running and well funded. (And operate an early voting location at the FEMA center). Hey, just thinking like a Republican here.

Edit: praying for all those affected by the storm. This is heart rending, but the federal government will be there for you all. Be safe.

  5. Florida and Texas are not in play for Dems, no matter what pundits, news media, and campaign managers are trying to peddle.

  6. Jeez…we seem to go through this every 4 years! Florida is not in play folks, it’s deep red. I know a great number of Floridians that voted Democrat 20-30 years ago and are rabidly Republican today. I don’t know what’s in the water, but even south Florida is “purple” at best.

  7. I’ll eat two week old dirty socks if FL turns blue.

As a FL voter, my biggest issue is the unchecked home insurance costs. Who wants to pay 15,000 or more for home insurance? I don’t even have a luxury house, I’m not living on the coast and that’s what these insurance companies were quoting me. I had to settle for Citizens at 2,000 because it sure as hell beats paying 15,000. Not only that, when you do need to make a claim. These insurance companies will do everything in their power to not give you a dime.

  8. How about trying to keep Nevada that’s becoming as red as Arizona and making sure Harris wins in NC?

It probably isn’t ’in play,’ but if you have the money, a fifty state strategy is always going to buy you *some* gains.

If you think Florida is going to flip you’re very wrong. We have had a ton of people moving here but only because they’re fleeing California like it’s the plague 😂

  11. Given what’s going on here in FL after the hurricane, they should be loudly campaigning on the fact DeSantis recently cut funds for stormwater mitigation.

  12. Weird. About a year ago, there were a few articles on how Florida is deeply red and had moved significantly that way over the years

  13. Florida was in play before, However in the last cycle Rick Scott won the Democratic Gubernatorial Primary and was destroyed.

He is literally a Republican that is shady AF.

Hopefully the abortion ballot measure will turn folks out.

  14. I live in Florida and was watching the Weather Channel yesterday. Granted, I was watching via their app on Roku but the commercial breaks were mostly just the same three ads on repeat — doctor who is against the abortion ban, a second ad about protecting abortion, and Rick Scott’s opponent.

They need to convince Hispanic people (mostly Cubans) that the Democrats are far from ‘Communism.’ and that one party is very cozy with Putin.

  16. Desantis must be removed. He is a hitler wannabe and wants to be more trump than trump, but unlike trump, he only has to strangle a single state. He will not allow a change of power. He just won’t. We can try, but it iwill take a revolution and him being arrested to get rid of him. Considering all the judges, house, and state senate are his cronies, that ain’t happening. Oh, and he made his own gestapo secret election police that only report to him.

  17. There’s roughly 500,000 Haitians living in Florida, probably not a good idea to attack them with a slew of hateful racist rhetoric.

  18. Florida is not in play 😂

Republicans have out-registered Dems by 1.2M in FL since 2020…. Trump’s going to win FL by 10 points, sorry guys.
