Reports are saying the target was possibly Nasrallah.
Edit: very likely dead

I’m a European citizen living in Beirut, in a Christian area. I could sometimes hear the other explosions that hit Beirut, but this one was different. It felt much louder, more intense and like 10 in a row. I’ve had people blow up my phone because this one was on another level.

I’m reading the Iranian embassy was hit.
Edit: But the source now took that information back so probably not true.

>Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah was reportedly the target of the strike, Israeli media reported, however there have been no official statements corroborating this.
Things are about to get interesting.

It will be very interesting to see how this plays out. Hezbollah has no communication and every time they meet a head of the snake gets cut off. If Nasrallah was targeted it’s reasonable to believe other top rank Hezbollah members would be killed as well. Iran could very well be stuck here.

Has it been shown that eliminating the leaders of these types of groups is effective? The next guy will be even crazier and refuse to even negotiate.
Haniyeh was killed in July and nothing seems to have changed for Hamas, besides negotiations completely ending and Hamas not even participating anymore.

Now if we could only stop demanding a ceasefire while the only liberal democracy in the region has the upper hand on an Iranian backed terror cell.
I desperately want peace, but there are clearly more and less strategically advantageous times to pause hostilities in a conflict that is obviously nowhere close to being fully resolved and has been in progress for decades.

This just shows how good of a tactic the Pagers explosions was , forcing Hezbollah leaders to meet in person,
