I don’t think that people should be allowed to broadcast lies and present it as news. I also don’t think that people should be allowed to broadcast opinions and present them as fact. However I don’t trust the government to decide what constitutes “misinformation”, especially governments who sue citizens for insulting them, or who try to get videos deleted from the internet that have already been shown by major news corporations.
Free speech absolutism is naive, on the other hand I don’t see any viable alternative to it that doesn’t tend towards corruption and stupidity.
