Rustad seems to be an outright fount of conspiracy theories. His recent comments about “regretting” receiving the COVID vaccine are now surpassed by his propagating of an international [“conspiracy theory that claims governments are trying to enslave people and force them to eat bugs”](https://www.npr.org/2023/03/31/1167550482/how-a-conspiracy-theory-about-eating-bugs-made-its-way-to-international-politics):

Personally, I do expect the kids to eat bugs, but [for different reasons](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/How_to_Eat_Fried_Worms). (Thanks to Mrs. F. for reading that one to us in grade two…)

Is it any coincidence that [a wasp stung David Eby](https://bc.ctvnews.ca/david-eby-stung-by-wasp-on-b-c-campaign-trail-1.7053328) today at a press conference? I think not. The bugs won’t take the NDP’s plan laying down!
