“Your life is already over and we wasted 3/4 of it. Whoops.” I hate the people who think it’s better to charge and be wrong than not charge and be right.

A “Not Guilty” verdict is extremely rare for Japan, let alone an acquittal in a retrial!

Seen a youtube video about him a while back. He spent 30 years in solitary confinement and his brain is irreversibly damaged from it.
He went insane believing he’s god and in control of everything as a coping mechanism.
This case is basically nightmare fuel. I’m usually of the opinion that capital punishment should be outlawed, but this is a rare example where even in hindsight after being freed, death would have been the better option than what he had to go through.
Japan seriously needs to change how it treats these people. Most of them have done terrible things, but they’re still human beings.

Talk about delayed justice…at this point, he’s probably forgotten his own name, let alone if he committed the murder or not.
