  2. The headline seems hugely exaggerated. The article mentions that one deserter from February is unaccounted for and several more have left . If you can count desertions on one hand, the word surge is inappropriate.

  3. I’m surprised it is not more given how sparse the food and other supplies are. The NK solder is shorter on average than one from South Korea due to diet and lifestyle hardships.
