They already have. Inflation is down to like 1.2% if you take out mortgage interest inflation which is driven by……checks notes…..BoC overnight rate.

We need deflation, even if inflation hit 0% everything is still 100% more expensive from 4 years ago. We need a good solid 4 years of -5% deflation to get prices back to being sane.
The fact that the Liberal government thinks 1.5 million dollars is a good price for a starter home is fucking nuts. We need deflation.

I’d say by this time next year real estate is going to be absolute hell again with another 20 percent increase if they go on a big cutting spree while shelter inflation is still over 5 percent.

It’s crazy we should already be in a big recession, and we pushed it off because of immigration, and now the whole economy is going to tank terribly because of this since they’ve really started pulling back on immigration.
Its absurd the levels of incompetency that happened at the federal level.
