  1. Does this actually mean anything? Will the UN security forces deploy anyone to Gaza? Will they stop Hamas from taking all the free supplies and selling it to Palestinians? Will we see blue helmets launching rockets into Israel?

Or is this just virtue signalling, nothing will happen, no one will change what they’re currently doing, and it’ll be a talking point for a few political parties in their own games in their own countries?

If nothing else, it’s darkly humorous that the organization that created Israel and practically said “do whatever is necessary to survive” is now basically saying “lay down and die”.

This whole war is a complete mess

If it walks like an antisemite, swims like an antisemite and quacks like an antisemite, it’s most likely an ~~antisemite~~ international organisation dedicated to world peace.

43 countries abstained for anyone that didn’t read the article.

Tomorrow the UN could vote on a resolution saying all male Jews must rub fecal matter on their faces and Jewish women must open their legs to anyone who worships allah and it would still pass.

UN resolutions carry less legitimacy than an elementary school’s class president election, nobody cares what they have to say about Israel considering how far they’ve disconnected themselves from reality.

Those who voted against the resolution were: Argentina, the Czech Republic, Fiji, Hungary, Israel, Malawi, Micronesia, Nauru, Palau, Papa New Guinea, Paraguay, Tonga, Tuvalu and the United States.

  5. What are you going to do? Invade Israel? Israel has the right to get their hostages back and eliminate all those who were involved in the despicable crimes against humanity.

  6. lol @ UN

No one cares and this is absurd bigotry and double standards for Israel compared to the rest of the world. If any other nation was attacked so horribly by a neighbor there would be no quarter given to that enemy and they would be destroyed utterly.

Israel has been overwhelmingly kind in a terrible situation.

  7. “The text does not mention Hamas, the October 7 invasion of Israel, or the remaining 101 hostages in Gaza. It makes no requirements on Hamas or the Palestinians with regard to attacks on Israel”

I’m not surprised at all. The UN has completely forgotten about Oct 7th and the hostages as they’ve proved this entire conflict. The bias the UN shows to supporting Palestinian terrorists is laughable at this point

“New Zealand supported the resolution as did 13 EU nations such as Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Slovenia and Spain.”

Cowards. Absolute fucking cowards. When something happens to them and they need the world to help I hope the same bias and hypocrisy applies

  8. The government of Israel has responded that they are very sorry and, as an act of apology, offered to provide the UN with new pagers.

  9. Oh no, please don’t **condemn** them that hard. Whatever will they do after being **condemned** so much? I don’t think just tossing **condemnation** all over the place like that is really prudent or responsible from the UN.

Please, stop **condemning** people, UN. It is extremely violent to just **condemn** like that all the time. Constant **condemnations** just take away people’s human rights.

  10. I can understand demanding the withdrawal of settlers but until the Palestinians make peace there has to be a military occupation and until that peace deal is achieved Israel’s military should have the right to fight against Hamas.

  11. This is a false, rage-baiting headline from an Israeli news source. The vote was for Israel to ‘end its unlawful presence’ in Gaza and the West Bank within 12 months. It was a General Assembly vote, which has no legally binding power. The UN Security Council would have to pass this for it to have any teeth, and the US won’t allow that.

Still, it shows how isolated Israel has become. There were plenty of yes votes from Western and Western aligned countries such as France, Japan, and New Zealand. Israel is depending on the US to continue supporting them, and I don’t know if that’ll last forever.

Edit: lol at the downvotes. Sorry for pointing out that the headline is intentionally misleading.

  12. Heavy abstentions and they have 12 months to leave the area, I don’t think Israel really wants to have troops in Gaza in 12 months if they can avoid it

  13. This sort of bullshit undermines the UN.

They already have an agency embedded with Hamas. As a kid I looked at the UN as a great thing but as I get older it’s clear that it’s a slightly more effective but still non factor much like the League of Nations.

Who’s sending troops to stop Israel in Gaza?

This is an insanely misleading headline by the Jerusalem Post. The resolution is for Israel to end its occupation in Palestinian territory. Nowhere does it mention Israel’s right to self defense.

    >UNITED NATIONS, Sept 18 (Reuters) – The United Nations General Assembly on Wednesday adopted a Palestinian-drafted resolution that demands Israel end “its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory” within 12 months
