  1. Sirens sounded across central Israel at around 06:32 on Sunday morning, including in cities such as Modiin, Ramat Gan, Holon, Rishon LeZion, Ramla, Lod, Rehovot, Ness Ziona, and Or Yehuda.

The IDF said the rockets were fired from the East, and added that a surface-to-surface missile was detected crossing the country from the east, but fell in an open area.

It was unclear why the rocket was not shot down.

The main likely candidates would be Yemen’s Houthis or Iran, though theoretically, other Iranian proxies in Syria or Iraq could have been involved.

It was one of the few times in several months that rockets have been fired on the Tel Aviv and central Israel areas.
