The DRC has historically commuted death penalty sentences to life in prison, but there’s also every chance that they’ll go ahead with these ones to make an example out of them. They did kill two police officers and attempt to overthrow the government after all. I do wonder if the US will try to free these citizens, or at least get them off death row.

DRC is very shady and corrupt, yet they are almost untouchable by other countries because they are sitting on several trillions of dollars of natural resources, including copper, lithium, oil, gold, diamonds, and the world’s main supplier of cobalt! The DRC is the key for producing the next century of technology products for the world.
