  1. Deceptive. Median Aussie income is more accurate of the majority. It’s around $65,000. Average is used to con the majority of people into thinking things are better than they are.

Lol $103,000 is considered “staggering” – adjusting to USD and for inflation (purchasing power parity), we rank #10 globally in the OECD, although this understates the true size because small, wealthy countries (Singapore, Hong Kong) are not included. Furthermore, many of the countries ahead of us don’t have the same cost of living pressures we’re facing. Earning $100,000 isn’t enough to survive in the main cities in Australia, it’s hardly “staggering” but domestic or international standards.
