UNRWA only exists because Arab countries viewed Israel’s existence as a temporary inconvenience that would soon be rectified. It should be phased out in a way that’s humane but ends this farcical notion that Palestinians (including those living in Palestine) whose ancestors fled Israel in 1948 are moving back to Israel or are entitled to generation after generation of financial support from the rest of the world. There were tens of millions of refugees in the 40s, no one else gets free shit for the better part of a century.
