In order to improve the tactical situation in the Toretsk sector, the 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade was engaged in defensive and offensive operations in and around the village of New York.
At the time the brigade was deployed to the area, the situation on the front line was catastrophic. However, thanks to the high morale, courage and professionalism of the brigade’s soldiers, Azov managed to stabilise the situation, regain control of part of New York and unblock the Defence Forces, which were surrounded by Russian forces.
At the moment, the situation remains tense. The Russians conduct up to 15 assaults per day in the brigade’s area of responsibility. Despite the heavy fighting, our soldiers are holding the line and successfully counterattacking.
Russia has repeatedly claimed to have completely occupied New York. However, this is another manipulation of the occupiers. The defence forces control part of the settlement and are doing everything possible to liberate Ukrainian territories.
We ask the media and the public not to trust the enemy’s propaganda about the actions of the Defence Forces. Believe in Azov and help the army with all your might.

They have been fighting in Kreminna forest more or less since January and has been rotated to New York to try to stop the Russian advances there
