    > “Staunch campus activism has changed the world. Universities campuses should always be political spaces where students and staff are encouraged to speak out on issues of social, racial and environmental justice.”

Supporting terrorism isn’t speaking out on those issues, just shows you’re mentally ill.

Not sure what they expected. These protests were highly disruptive and had issues with antisemitism. They forced the rules to be tightened.

    >”This is a repulsive full-scale offensive on the right to protest at the University of Sydney”

Hyperbole, much? Restricting the use of camps, having open fires and disrupting classes with megaphones, otherwise u can still pretty much protest as you wish. Hardly a full-scale offensive.

The other thing is that if these changes had been brought in as a result of a protest from a non-progressive cause, you can guarantee that the same people that are whinging about them now would be silent.

I’d like to remind everyone that The [Bibas Family](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kidnapping_of_the_Bibas_family), Shiri & Yarden & their 4 year old Ariel and 1 year old Kfir are still being held hostage in Gaza by Palestinian Terr orists

[Here ](https://www.nbcnews.com/video/video-shows-hamas-gunmen-kidnap-shiri-silberman-bibas-and-her-children-194724933949)is the video from NBC news

And before anyone tries to make the claim that Ha as and the Palestinian people are two different things I will refer you to a report released on 12th June from the EU supported [Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestinian_Center_for_Policy_and_Survey_Research) (PSR).

    Their survey found the following:

    * More than 60% of Gazans report losing family members in the current war on Gaza, **but two-thirds of the public (in Gaza) continue to support the October 7 attack**, and 80% believe it put the Palestinian issue at the center of global attention
    * About half of Gazans expects Hamas to win the war and return to rule the Gaza Strip; a quarter of Gazans expects Israel to win.
    * Increased demand for the resignation of President Abbas is accompanied by a rise in Hamas’ and Marwan Barghouti’s popularity.
    * Increased support for armed struggle is accompanied by a drop in support for the two-state solution; more than 60% support the dissolution of the PA

Surely they can handle these “minor inconveniences”, as they call their disruptions

  6. They are cracking down because they want to use the lawn for O-week activities.

If there was any real security considerations they would’ve done something when students first started.
