    The article mostly is about the challenge that AI is creating by greatly increasing demand for electricity and water. The number of data centers is increasing and will collectively consume these resources. The electricity needs of AI the author says will likely come from fossil fuels. The author does go on about each email we send contributing to the problem and a a plea for us all to use less, drive less, travel less, etc. The need for a reduction in consumption is often cited but there seems to be a lack of path forward except “build more renewables” which seems inadequate. Increasing efficiency is always happening with new technologies but it runs into Jevons’ Paradox where greater efficiency leads to greater consumption.
