In case you don’t know, ZAKA is the organization that is responsible for collecting bodies and body parts. One day as I was coming home, there was an accident across the street from my home. I lived in a town called Benyamina located in central Israel. Two kids on bikes had stopped at a railroad crossing to wait for the train to pass. When the train passed, they drove across the tracks before the guard rail came back up. What they didn’t know was that another train was coming in the other direction. One of the kids was killed instantly and the other severely injured. The train had a few hundred meters still to go to reach the train station but stopped short of it when the driver knew he hit the kid. The boy’s body was dragged under the wheel of the train for a few hundred meters and torn to pieces. I watched as someone from ZAKA had to dislodge his body parts still stuck under the train wheel. That should give you an idea what these men have to face.
