I didn’t read the article, which is part of my point. If any politician’s platform is placing Canadian kids before foreigners (I’m not against immigrants, just the current immigration practice), than as a father, he has my vote. I don’t even need to understand the nuances of the situation, the well being and future of my kids surpass political lines.

To be clear, the policy of the Ontario government over the recent years has been firmly in favor of ever-more foreign students in the province’s higher education system, as a way to balance out the Ford government’s funding cuts. Ford has repeatedly urged educational institutions to balance their books by accepting ever-more foreign students paying premium rates, so that he could cut back government funding without being blamed for the system collapsing.
So, Ford’s policy has been the exact opposite of the one suggested by this article.
Over the past one year, as more and more stories came out about how abusive and shady the system was becoming, first the Federal Liberals cut back on visas and then the Ford government changed some rules about how permits would be allocated to curb a couple of the most abusive for-profit college/trade schools that had sprung up.

Yeah but his actions say “I don’t care about any kids future unless they are kids from rich families.”
But I guess lying got him where he is now so why stop.

If only Doug cared about our kids! He has underfunded education purposely pushing for “profit generating foreign students” to actually fund education.
