And PP knows Trudeau can’t just release the names publicly. There are national security issues with that and there are a wide variety of reasons people could be flagged most of which fall short of knowingly aiding a foreign power. And sources could be wrong.

Sure, and Trudeau can’t talk because he is blocked by ongoing investigation and security clearance. Poilievre is possibly the biggest benefactor of Indian interference, they helped get him elected leader of the CPC. When will he answer for that?

Trudeau testified under oath, so even the most cynical Trudeau hater has to justify their accusation of perjury, because why would he lie? Trudeau did the political equivalent of mutually assured destruction with Poilievre, because we already know both parties are implicated and the only response must be to release the full list of names, for Poilievre to defend himself against the allegations he did nothing about foreign interference in his caucus. At this point, we have Elizabeth May, Jagmeet Singh, and now Trudeau with wildly different interpretations of the same document so it’s time for the public to judge for themselves. My suspicion based on the term “parliamentarian” is that the people implicated are Senators and not House members, which complicates it further since there’s no way to remove them from a fundamentally unDemocratic institution.

Poilievre is high in the polls. He is going to become Prime Minister unless he screws up badly (and it’s possible he could). He could easily disown the Indian government, and condemn them every chance he gets. He could take reins of the narrative. And yet, he refuses to. He doesn’t want to. At best, he uses his MPs to release a lukewarm statement on it instead of doing it himself.
Trudeau, for obviously partisan reasons, revealed the bombshell that the CPC MPs are complicit with foreign interference. It put the CPC on the defensive. It increases the pressure on Poilievre to get security clearance. It puts the onus on him to clear his party’s name.
Honestly, Trudeau should crank it up a notch. Find a multi partisan agreement from all party leaders to reveal the names in parliament. Even get Singh, Blanchet, and May all in a press conference calling on Poilievre to join them and get the clearance.
Poilievre will obviously continue to refuse. And Trudeau won’t have to do anything because Poilievre won’t get clearance. And all the while, put pressure on Poilievre to get the clearance, and when asked why he won’t reveal the names, just say “because Pierre Poilievre is the only leader remaining who hasn’t seen the documents, and until he does, we can’t reveal the names”.
