  1. I feel like there’s a nonzero chance that the GOP uses this opportunity to dump him and prepare for 2028. Denying another election and tying themselves to Trump again will just cause more problems in the future.

Maybe I’m optimistic, but I think there’s a chance that it’s not as bad as last time.

The only way they can steal it is if they win both houses of Congress *or* if enough of the swing state results are close (close enough to discard enough votes to swing it for Trump or to delay the results long enough to get SCOTUS to effectively de ice the outcome). Large wins in swing states would make it much more difficult. And without a majoirt in the House and Senate, they couldn’t get enough votes to discard a state’s electoral certificate.

Or a state just decides to ignore any sane reasoning and arbitrarily declares issues with their voting and certifies multiple slates. Or refuses to certify with the sole goal or forcing SCOTUS to intervene.

  3. I bet they’ve put more thought into how they’ll try to steal the election than they have into any policy they’re running on.

It’s wild how history seems to repeat itself, huh? Hopefully, people catch on before it’s too late. although thats just wishing for too much atp

  5. If you haven’t already voted, go today. Early voting is open almost everywhere. Google your location and “early voting”.

Seriously, go today. And bring a friend.

    We can stop this crap.

  6. It’s their only plan. There is no “if” defeated. They’re not even trying to win votes. It’s blatant and has been for ages. They’ve got the fix in and screw all y’all for trying to vote. They don’t care.

    The rats have already fucked.

Orange Bro has been mailing it in ever since Sleepy Bro dropped out. His entire plan has devolved into just creating enough chaos to muddy the election so the supreme bros can raise his hand in victory. He realized that was his only path to staying out of prison. Getting more votes than Prepared Prosecutor was never possible.

  8. It would be great to have a rock solid plan to counter these plans other than a bunch of dems saying…”They WOULDN’T DARE!” while watching them tear down the capitol. I don’t know, just a thought.

We have to win the house and the White House in a landslide. Anything less and SCOTUS will hand it all to Trump

  10. I think this is the essence of the article.

    > There are multiple razor-tight House races in California, Colorado, and New York. Trump and his co-conspirators may well believe that his holding rallies in those states represents the best bet for helping Republicans win those races, thus insuring Johnson is in charge of the House so they can refuse certification and throw the case to themselves via the Supreme Court.

    > Seizing control of the Senate would be the icing on the cake for this scheme, as it’s also sworn in on January 3rd and also votes to certify the Electoral College vote, but a deadlock is only necessary in one of the two legislative bodies, and if the 12th Amendment is invoked by six Republicans on the Supreme Court because of that deadlock only the House votes for president.

    > … unlike in 2020, there are no longer Mitt Romneys, Adam Kinzingers, or Liz Cheneys in Congress who could gum up the works. The GOP is today unified in its assertion that voter fraud handed Joe Biden the 2020 presidency: this is the perfect setup for the scenarios I’m describing, and Republicans know it. They created it, in fact.

    > The most likely scenario, though, would involve local election officials gumming up the works by slow-walking counts, challenging counts, or outright refusing to certify counts at the state level long enough that several individual state votes can’t be certified by January 6th, very much like in the election of 1876.

    > That would provide an easy excuse for the six Republicans on the Supreme Court to intervene, invoke the 12th Amendment, and throwing the election to the House, guaranteeing Trump’s victory.

If it is MAGA’s intention to interrupt the legitimate process of government, then perhaps the counter is to interrupt MAGA. Under the 14th Amendment, insurrectionists can be barred from Congress. If necessary, the MAGA members of the House can be delayed from being seated until after January 6. Tie them up in the courts. Challenge their rights to be sworn in. Keep them in appeals until the presidency is decided.

And legally, they should be out of Congress for the rest of their lives, anyway.

  11. Trump doesn’t know his left from his right, let alone have a plan for anything. The GOP, unfortunately, probably have a dozen things they’re going to try.

I think the fact you have to defeat them in the ballot box is the most important part

  13. The Author called out several scenarios which judging from what we have already seen with this congress. The moves that have been made over the last few years in county secretaries all over the country, it’s not too far fetched maga has alternatives planned. The one thing they didn’t plan for is a President with immunity, who is NOT a benefactor of this election. Biden is still President until Jan 20 and knows how this system is supposed to work and could use immunity to stop the coup, or the ACTUAL STEAL from happening.

  14. Harris and Waltz continue to press on and letting Americans know where they stand on policies. Trump continues to lie and denigrate groups creating unsafe situations for people in the United States. I do NOT hear PLANS of diplomacy coming from the Republican Party to work to solve problems. We need a problem solver, not a tantrum thrower.

  15. SkillFullyNotTrue on

Non Maga Republicans please record all calls from MAGA we need to send them all to prison.

  16. Trump ads didn’t start here in AZ until about 1 month after Harris.

100% his team was more focused on the courts and how to get the final say up to SCOTUS.

The creator behind Project 2025 was on TV saying “We’ve already won in ways beyond the Democrats can imagine”. They’ve been focusing on the courts.

Let’s just hope the Democrats have also been planning for this.

  17. This is what keeps me up at night. Knowing MAGA has a wild but legal pathway to overturn the election is scary. Can Biden claim marshal law and suspend the Supreme Court and Congress?

  18. Salty-Effect-5512 on

Biden should toy with them and verbatim use Trumps words, threatening military force for anyone trying to interfere with the election/inauguration.

  19. AlexKingstonsGigolo on

Yeah, no, that’s not how this works. Every state allows for a writ of mandamus requiring certification and the courts can enter a certification on behalf of officials who refuse to certify. The only risk is the House of Representatives and even that is a questionable concern.

  20. They couldn’t pull it off when they were in charge. How the hell do they think they’ll do it now?

  21. This is why we have to get out and vote. Trump needs to be crushed in such numbers that under no circumstances can this be contested.

  22. I think it’ll have to do with the polls they keep putting out that show Trump ahead. It’s why you’re hearing about polls from like Crypto bros, Peter Thiel’s company or whatever, just the most random shit. “oh, arm and fluffer poll says he’s up by 6, so it must be true!”
