    >While giving a sermon in 1988, the Rev. Billy Graham, a renowned Christian evangelist, recalled a passage from the Bible that he let a man sitting next to him on a plane read.

    >”But you must realize that in the last days, the times will be full of danger. Men will become utterly self-centered and greedy for money,” he said, quoting the passage.

    >Men “will be proud and abusive” and “treacherous, reckless and arrogant, loving what gives them pleasure instead of loving God,” he added. “They will maintain a facade of religion, but their lives deny the truth. Keep clear of people like that.”

    >Clips from that sermon were intercut with comments made by former President Donald Trump over the years in an ad released by Evangelicals for Harris, a group supporting Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential race against Trump.

    >”My whole life I’ve been greedy, greedy, greedy,” Trump says in one of the clips used in the ad. “I’ve grabbed all the money I could get.” In others, he describes himself as “the chosen one,” talks about wanting to “punch” someone in the face and boasts about kissing women without permission.

  2. Franklin Graham and Greg Laurie think that Trump is the antichrist. But that’s all part of Gods plan to them. They want the world to blow up so they can ascend into heaven!

Thats the funny thing about Bible stuff. That verse describes people in general from any time any place. Goof balls.

As a side note, every natural disaster comment section is swarmed with comments trading FEMA and the Red Cross and suggesting to donate to Samaritan’s Purse instead. An evangelical org run by Franklin Graham.

Christian Nationalist tell them who to vote for, voting for libs is against the church, and now where to donate and donating to other orgs is bad too.

  5. > But the Rev. Franklin Graham, the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and a longtime Trump supporter, has taken issue with the group’s use of footage of his **late father**.

    > “The liberals are using anything and everything they can to promote candidate Harris,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in August.

    > “They are trying to mislead people. Maybe they don’t know that my father appreciated the conservative values and policies of President @realDonaldTrump in 2016, and if he were alive today, my father’s views and opinions would not have changed.” Graham died in 2018 at the age of 99.

Umm, dad said stupid things for years, twisting the meaning of the Bible, and now they are upset that someone is using his words against him?? So sad.

Or is Frank worried that he’s in danger of fucking up the Graham billion dollar religious grift foundation?

Or does he not think that his dad would have changed his mind after watching the last 2 years of the Orange presidency and his 4 years of legal issues that followed?

In any case, too bad, so sad. /s

NAL but surely use of copyrighted footage in a professionally produced and widely broadcast campaign ad is not ‘fair use’? I thought fair use was things like private study.

  7. As a Harris supporter, I personally oppose Evangelical support for her. I’m sure Harris welcomes it, but IMO, they’re some of the biggest hypocrites & phonies on earth.

Why didn’t these same people speak out against Trump during the last eight years?

  8. It’s interesting how evangelical support seems so divided; using Billy Graham’s words against Trump highlights the struggle for moral clarity in politics today. Some may feel Graham would back Harris, while others cling to Trump, showing how faith and politics can clash in complex ways.

  9. The use of Billy Graham’s footage in the ad is clever, but it’s risky to assume evangelicals will shift their loyalty; many still see Trump as their guy despite his flaws.

    > Evangelicals for Harris says it has now received multiple letters, which Newsweek reviewed, from lawyers representing Franklin Graham and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association that demanded they cease using the footage.

    > "Richard Flory, executive director of the Center for Religion and Civic Culture at the University of Southern California, said Evangelicals for Harris using footage of Graham in their ad is"a political marketing technique to sway evangelical voters, but they are trying to put lipstick on the pig of evangelical political efforts.

    > "Franklin Graham has very little sway over white evangelicals who will vote for Harris in November. He lost their trust and confidence, if he ever had it, in 2016 and 2020.".

  11. The Christ child showed up at the border in Arizona and Franklin Graham helped tear Him from the arms of Mary as she screamed in pain and terror.
