Craig Foster is just such a douche.
He was an Australian soccer “legend” at a time where Les Murray was still trying to get the ethnic suburban soccer clubs to abandon the traditional post game race riots. There’s a non-zero chance that despite the progressive trappings – he’s on some ASIO watch list for having links to the Croatian Mafia.
It says much about the institutional decay of the Republican cause in Australia that they just let themselves be taken over by such a vapid non-entity. Peter Fitzsimmons might have been a iconoclast, but at the very least he had good ghostwriters.
