    Odd–I was told supply and demand was not a thing.

    Who would have thought that reducing the surge in rental demand, leading to more available units and higher vacancy rates (even as overall demand grows, but more slowly), combined with increased housing supply (just look at all the condos being completed in Toronto), would actually lessen competition for rentals and slow rent increases, or even cause them to drop?
