We know that… everyone knew it was a weekend limited review and micro-managed by Trump. It was so he could say he “did it”. Everything Trump does is for show and to hide what he is really doing.

  2. That should disqualify him immediately, and invalidate any SCOTUS cases his vote made a difference on deciding. You shouldn’t be able to cheat and lie your way into a lifetime position of such importance, and then suddenly be safe and immune from ever being removed because you are already there. The Supreme Court should not be ruled by squatters rights.

  3. Yup, hundreds of thousand in debt wiped out without explanation, 10,000$ in baseball tickets, etc. None of it researched. The sexual assault/rape accusation was turned into a joke. Anyone who thinks Trump’s appointed judges are good judges is delusional. Even Gorsuch has actions that are ethically worrisome and has been accused of commiting plagerism in his writings, and he’s undoubtedly the best of the three Trump appointed.

Trump’s damage to this country will last generations. Makes sense. Why should Trump only ruin his own family when he can ruin everyone else’s too.

  4. I’m still surprised / fuckn annoyed that at the time nobody in the media said “hey send your tips here, we’ll look into them”

  5. I see everyone here saying “yeah we know” but two thoughts about articles like this:

    1. Refresher course. trump has done a lot of crimes and disgusting acts along the route of his time in politics. it’s important to keep things fresh

2 . these articles are not really for us. they’re mostly for the every day folks who didn’t follow this stuff in and out. the people who saw the process of kavanaugh getting “grilled”, going through controversies and STILL made his way to the supreme court will get almost nothing from these articles.

I watched party boy brett being soft balled questions by the right with horror while he reminisced about his drinking stories. the whole time I thought This is the guy who’s about to be a justice?! holy shit…. the guy had to fight off allegations that he sexually assaulted Christine Blasey Ford (Looked up her name. didn’t feel right just saying “someone” or “a girl”) in high school. No wonder trump likes the guy.

  6. I feel like we knew this at the the time, seeing as the investigation took about an hour and then he was being confirmed

  7. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/oct/08/trump-brett-kavanaugh-investigation-fbi?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other) reduced by 82%. (I’m a bot)

    > The Trump administration protected Brett Kavanaugh from facing a full FBI investigation in the wake of serious allegations that he sexually assaulted two women – once in high school and once in college – during his controversial 2018 Senate confirmation to become a supreme court justice, according to a new report.

    > An investigation led by the Democratic senator Sheldon Whitehouse also found that both the Trump White House and the FBI "Misled the public and the Senate" about the scope of the investigation it did conduct into the sexual assault allegations by falsely claiming that the FBI had conducted its investigation thoroughly and "By the book".

    > In reality, the Whitehouse report claims the FBI's limited supplemental background investigation involved only a "Handful" of interviews of relevant witnesses, and ignored other potential sources, including Kavanaugh himself, Ford, or others who had offered to give the FBI corroborating or otherwise relevant information.

Always quid pro quo… we knew it then and so did everyone else. Our cowardly government and DOJ continue the cover up and the fake shock at tRump’s never ending corruption!

Surprising no one at all. Kavanaugh is an anti-Constitutional piece of shit, both personally and professionally.

    Woah woah woah

You mean to tell me the investigation that wasn’t allowed to interview anyone and only was allowed a single printed copy for 100 senators to read over the span of a few hours in total wasn’t on the up and up?!?

  11. How can the guy who taught us all what buttchugging was NOT be confirmed to the Supreme Court?

  12. Anyone surprised that a man convicted of sexual assault and linked to Epstein would protect a frat boy rapist …?

  13. SAyyOuremySIN on

Trump deserves the absolute worst that could happen to a human being. And I’m not being figurative.

  14. what happened to Kavanaugh’s high school buddy who was there for his rape attempt? Nobody has tracked that guy down?

  15. We all knew this at the time. It was wrong then, nothing happened about it, because nothing ever happens. And nothing will happen still.

  16. Then it’s even more of a joke of an institution than we thought. Immediate and drastic action is required to save our democracy. Immediately expand the court and impeach these criminals who evaded accountability.

  17. Trump and his Ol’ boy’s code of conduct must include a statement, “sexual predators welcome”.
