  1. I remember thinking the “oligarchs” are the problem. “Trickle down” is the problem etc. Arguments can be made to show they don’t help, sure.

Now I understand that the root of all evil is where money comes from. The expansion of money and centralized authorities that decide where that money goes has always been the enabler to this broken system.

Wealthy people are just using the chips they are given in a broken system. I would do the same and I do benefit from ballooning asset prices etc.

This is why natural disaster relief is so hard to come by in 2024; it doesn’t get anyone rich. Sending that money to other countries and funding wars does though

I’m sure plenty of people will downvote this and come to our awesome system’s rescue and reply telling me money expansion is good for us and the system works great etc. Very sad to me.

  2. Billionaires backing Trump isn’t just about tax cuts—Robert Reich warns of something deeper. Could the concentration of wealth and power be at odds with democratic principles?

As these elites throw their support behind policies that erode democracy, what does that mean for the future of economic equality and political representation in the U.S.?

  3. OR… the idea of a wealth tax is so stupid that anyone smart enough to make money is gonna support the other guy.
