Donald’s not going to like this… Temu Stark’s not going to be invited to the next sleep-inducing DREADTalk.

Won’t these just be deleted like the SS (abbreviation intended) and their text messages?

We will always remember that Elon tried so hard to push the rape-y agnostic fraudlord on us and how much they both hate the constitution and the republic.

Must be fake news. I was told in this sub that SCOTUS would do anything possible to protect Trump.

Must be why Musk is so Gung ho for trump recently…there’s more to what Musk has done with Twitter than we know of. He’s hoping trump as president will protect him from possible prosecution

This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/10/elon-musks-x-loses-battle-over-federal-request-for-trumps-dms/) reduced by 56%. (I’m a bot)

> The social media company argued that it receives "Tens of thousands" of government data requests annually-including "Thousands" with nondisclosure orders-and pushes back on any request for privileged information that does not allow users to assert their privileges.
> Allowing the lower court rulings to stand, X warned SCOTUS, could create a path for government to illegally seize information not just protected by executive privilege, but also by attorney-client, doctor-patient, or journalist-source privileges.
> That's how the Presidential Records Act works, X noted, suggesting that Smith's team was improperly trying to avoid PRA compliance by invoking SCA instead. But the US government didn't have to prove that the less-restrictive alternative X submitted would have compromised its investigation, X said, because the court categorically rejected X's submission as "Unworkable" and "Unpalatable.”
For some reason Elon thinks his data is somehow more important than say… ANY OTHER EVIDENCE REQUIRED TO TRY A CASE. It was so obvious that even the MAGA side of the SCOTUS had to stop him.

Did Diddy give money to Elon Musk?
**Diddy’s alleged $10 million investment in Elon Musk’s platform, X**, has drawn the renewed interest of social media users to their friendship amid serious allegations against the rapper, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and other sexual assault charges.

This seems a bit like this is an example of terrible-person-just-made-a-good-point. SCOTUS and the federal courts in general are way too willing in the post 9/11 world to allow broad sweeping warrants with accompanying gag orders. In this context, X’s position was highly reasonable from a basic civil liberties standpoint. That Musk and X roll over for authoritarian governments, and would likely never make this argument for a Democratic candidate in a similar situation is noteworthy but incidental to the fact that he was essentially correct here.

Wonder how likely it’s for Musk to get himself slapped with some obstruction charges over this. No way he won’t tamper with the data before it’s handed over
