    **Defining Characteristics Of Fascism:**

    – (6) Controlled Mass Media – Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

  2. It seems that the Florida Department of Health sent a letter to Mark Higgins, and we don’t get to read it.

  3. The Republicans in Florida are losing the abortion augment and they know it.

Republicans, and especially DeSantis, are continuing to resort to intimidation to try and push their message. I eagerly look forward to the day DeSantis is no longer Governor. DeSantis is a vile, despicable person.

  4. Just a friendly reminder, DeSantis sent his newly minted “election authorities,” to the homes of several of the constituents who signed the petition to get the ballot initiative on the docket for November’s upcoming election.

    > Ron DeSantis’s administration has appeared to threaten a local TV station with legal action for airing an abortion rights campaign ad.

    > It features a woman named Caroline who needed to have an abortion and cancer treatments after a brain tumor diagnosis in 2022.

    > The letter — dated October 3 and sent by the Florida Department of Health to WFLA TV’s vice president Mark Higgins — was shared on social media by journalist Jason Garcia, who accused the administration of “trying to intimidate” the TV station.

    > The department claims the ad is illegal under section 386.01 of Florida law that allows the state to remove any “nuisance” that “threatens or impairs” people’s health.

    > “The advertisement is not only false; it is dangerous,” the letter reads.

    > The Health Department said that if the ad is not removed within 24 hours, the department will initiate legal proceedings to obtain an injunction.

I think that there are a number of Republicans in power out there who, if given the chance, would follow Putin’s lead and set up a state-run media network(s), while threatening to sue and shut down every “nuisance” that dares to publish a report or run a campaign ad that goes against the grain and/or portrays a demagogue like Desantis accurately.

What’s particularly frustrating about all of this, is that it’s not unprecedented for one, and also how this is the party that’s constantly whining about being “censored,” and persecuted by their political adversaries.

The message here is obvious. When Republicans rattle on about *their* rights and freedoms afforded to them by the constitution, what they’re really trying to communicate is that only *they* are entitled to these things.

  6. Did he threaten to ship them all to concentration camps?

    Fucking nazi asshole.

The problem with Florida is that there are too many people who think this little nazi shit is a good idea. He is not. I hope Florida and Floridians get everything they deserve for supporting this son of a bitch.

  7. Desantis looks like he still tries to go to frat parties and I will not be persuaded otherwise until someone can show me proof that he doesn’t.

Please Florida get rid of this fucking maniac. You hate the libs. We get it. You win. Just stop fucking yourselves over with this asshole just to own us. Again, you win.

  8. They should definitely just let the government sue them to remove the ad. The publicity will be epic
