FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell criticized Donald Trump for spreading false information about how the Biden administration allocated disaster relief funding for Hurricane Helene recovery.
Trump falsely claimed last week that FEMA was running out of money to aid its disaster relief efforts, because the White House had used the funds “on illegal migrants coming into the country.”
FEMA received a $20 billion cash boost from the stopgap funding bill that Congress passed to avert a government shutdown, which went into effect last Tuesday.

Hey CNBC you could actually present the truth and facts that FEMA is doing the best it can with republicans failing to fund it.

It’s easy to understand why people would be confused:
“FEMA regional administrators have been meeting with city officials on-site to coordinate available federal support from FEMA and other federal agencies. Funding is also available through FEMA’s emergency food and shelter program to eligible local governments and not-for-profit organizations upon request to support humanitarian relief for migrants.”

Maybe someone here can clear this up for me. I watched somewhere (can’t find the link) where the woman was explaining what sounds like to me is one of the real problems with FEMA. She was saying that they still have like 2 billion dollars frozen for I believe Hurricane Ian and they recently voted to keep it frozen until like 2028 or something like that before they release it back to the general fund. If that’s the case then this seems like they need to figure out a way to handle their funds more dynamically in case of situations like this. I understand there’s probably legit reasons for some of that money to be frozen but it just seems to me when you have a disaster of the century type event like this that they should be able to dip into those funds to address the immediate crisis.

They should sue Trump for defamation

Wish officials would do more to meet these chucklefucks on the field of battle and drag them hard, and loudly. I’m talking about taunting these guys and calling their qualifications as reporters into question.
Ensure these meatheads never ask a question again, maybe even avoid the press conference altogether.

Trump is going into overdrive constantly spewing insults, hateful rants and blatant lies. He’s gotten so bold, I believe that before this election is finished Trump will begin to openly call for violence against his opponents.
And why wouldn’t he? The US voters are so brain dead at this point most of them wouldn’t bat an eye if he slowly started ramping calls to violence against liberals. You know it’s true. They clearly don’t care about all the hate and lies, so I doubt calls to violence would change their minds.

Any time there is an official response to Trump’s falsehoods, their response should kindly state that they are correcting Trump’s “confusion” which might be due to cognitive issues. Let the press work with that. After all, until a diagnosis, we just don’t know.

The extent to which conservatives and conservative media is spinning this as “Democrats withholding money from disaster victims” is stunning.

Typically stunning, but stunning nonetheless
