  1. Ireland being overly dramatic about what was actually requested in order to simp for Israel’s enemies is 100% on brand.

Outside the ARW, their military is almost entirely performative.

20 years of failing to enforce 1701 but allowing Hezbollah to shell Israel we refuse to move now so that Israel can defend itself.

    That’s insane

  3. > the villages they are defending

I’m sorry, UNIFIL is defending something? This is beyond pathetic…

    > They’re very professional, brave, they’re courageous, they’re honourable, they’re in the best tradition of UN peacekeeping.

Straight out of a Monty Python sketch.

  4. Article 1701 which UN peacekeepers are there under the condition that Israel leave Lebanon and the UN peacekeepers and Lebanon military are the only armed forces south of the Litani River.

Israel did leave Lebanon. Hezbolah didn’t leave.

  5. Peacekeepers????

Where are these peacekeepers as Hezbollah fires 11,000 missles and rockets into Israel?

If all you do is hang around as one side shoots at the other, and then refuse to get out of the way as the other side starts shooting back, you aren’t a peacekeeper….

Those peacekeepers failed their mission in every possible way, and now Ireland decided to leave them there, risking their lives, just to annoy Israel

“Tánaiste and Minister for Defence Micheál Martin said the safety of Irish troops remained the highest priority” … _butttt_ you need to hold your positions that are within 2k of Hezbollah. There’s a reason we placed you two within a 2 minute walk of each other.

How are they threatening peacekeepers when they specifically asked them to leave the area?

  9. >the IDF “made a request through different channels to have some Unifil troops move from areas of military activity for their own protection and safety.

    >“Let it be clear that the safety of peacekeeping forces is of immense importance to Israel. To attempt to characterise this as a threat to Unifil forces is another unfounded and inflammatory accusation levelled at Israel, as we have seen in the past months.”

    >The embassy said “it should be remembered that for almost a year, the people of northern Israel have been under relentless bombardment by Hizbullah, forcing entire communities to flee their homes, a grim reality no other country would have suffered for so long. Israel has a duty and an obligation to protect its citizens and will act accordingly.”

When this explanation is pushed to the Middle or Bottom of the article, that’s when you know the article’s biased.

  10. This is the guy who said a little girl was “lost, now found” when she was kidnapped by Hamas?

I’d say it’s outrageous there are people calling themselves “peacekeepers” on the Lebanon-Israel border, considering the last year.

Ireland, friend of the country that actively persecutes women, continues to fight for relevance on the world stage.

Well, let’s be realistic here. Our first problem was trying to take an Irish politician seriously on the international stage.

    Moving on.

Higgins, for the last 20 years your “peace keepers” did nothing but turn a blind eye as Hizbollah armed themselves to the teeth in violation of UN 1701.

    They were utterly useless.

All Israel is doing is trying to do, is keep the useless UN people safe.

    You should thank Israel, Higgins.
