Judge Matthew Barrett called Peters one of the most defiant defendants he has ever seen.
> “You are no hero. You abused your position – and you’re a charlatan who used, and is still using your prior position, to peddle a snake oil that’s been proven to be junk time and time again,” Barrett said. “Your lies are well-documented and these convictions are serious. I’m convinced you’d do it all over again if you could.”

Good. These people need to have an example made of them.

It’s crazy how some people will risk everything for their beliefs, but it’s good to see accountability for actions that undermine democracy.

Judge Barrett, he is the hero we all deserve. Thank you for restoring sanity to a small part of our country and helping us to rebuild our faith in the justice system.

Yet Giuliani walks free and Trumps is the GOP candidate… Go figure.

Over in s/ Conservative she is being defended as doing their job and voting protector. Calling it a partisan witch hunt.
I disagree, but they are in full throated support of her. I didn’t see any disagreement, but it was a flaired user’s only post.
It is next to impossible to convince these people there is any thing shady wrt Trump’s election supporters or Trump himself. The mind boggles. Conviction in a court of law mean nothing if it is one of theirs, but any unfounded rumor about a liberal is proof.

We need a live feed from her prison cell showing us the moment she realizes a pardon from Trump is never coming
> According to prosecutors, Peters stole a Mesa County employee's security badge to help a man MyPillow founder Mike Lindell was acquainted with gain access to the county's voter systems to help Lindell's false conspiracies about the validity of the 2020 election results.

And yet the master himself is running around free, even holding rallies to garner support for his presidential run.

If this woman thought she was being persecuted before she’s in for a rude-awakening once she actually gets to prison.

I’m glad the judge found her to be completely unrepentant as is so clearly indicated in her continued unhinged ranting about non-existent vote manipulation even after being sentenced. She deserves every single day that she was sentenced to.
Perhaps she should have used AZ’s Paul Gosar as a defense witness to explain the voter fraud to the jury:
Imagine spending the last maybe 9 years of your life in prison for Trump. What a fucking idiot.

The judge is right. These convicts are incapable of learning. On the plus side, this particular idiot has nine years to study up. And who knows, by the time she gets out, we may have a christo fascism vaccine available for MAGA deadenders.

Not bad considering a woman got 6 years in Chicago for voting.

I can’t imagine going so far down a mental rabbit hole from believing someone’s lies that you wreck your life because of it. She certainly deserves the punishment and I pray others will heed this as a warning.

I am so glad there was justice here. She lived not far from where Lauren Boebart used to live before she moved districts. There are similarities… She tried to run for state office, was defeated and cried election fraud. The worst is what she did to her ex-husband before he died according to a Wikipedia article. Nine years is nothing compared to what she has done.

This witch will be 79 when she is released. I sure hope she likes her new prison clothes and prison food.
