They are taking anger out on prisoners because they see how they are treated by commanders on their side. They have no say when told to walk across a field knowing everyone will see them. They have to crawl over meat wave bodies just to get to the front and will show no mercy if they catch an enemy. Perhaps this is putins plan to egg on the Ukrainians to do the same then he can use it to show his people how this must go on . Only the Lord knows what goes on in men’s minds during war.
