    Solid article.

     >VANCE: “If you believe [that carbon emissions drive climate change], what would you want to do? The answer is that you’d want to restore as much American manufacturing as possible, and you’d want to produce as much energy as possible in the United States of America … Unfortunately, Kamala Harris has done exactly the opposite.”

    >Under the Biden-Harris administration, the U.S. produced a record amount of oil last year — averaging 12.9 million barrels per day. That eclipsed the previous record of 12.3 million barrels per day, set under former President Donald Trump in 2019. >Last year was also a record year for domestic production of natural gas. Much of the domestic boom in oil and gas production is the result of hydraulic fracturing or “fracking” techniques. While campaigning for president in 2019, Kamala Harris said she would ban fracking, but shechanged course when she joined the Biden administration.

     >In addition to record oil and gas production, the Biden-Harris administration has also coincided with rapid growth of solar and wind power. Meanwhile, coal has declined as a source of electricity.

    It goes on…

    >VANCE: “A lot of fentanyl is coming into our country … Kamala Harris let fentanyl into our communities at record levels.”

    >Once again we heard that undocumented immigrants are bringing fentanyl into the country — a myth which has been debunked.

    >In reality, close to 90% of illicit fentanyl is seized at official border crossings. Immigration authorities say nearly all of that is smuggled by people who are legally authorized to cross the border, and more than half by U.S. citizens. Virtually none is seized from migrants seeking asylum.

    >Also, NPR has reported that the U.S. is currently seeing significantly less fentanyl in circulation and fewer overdoses. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that fentanyl-related deaths dropped by roughly 10% last year.

This guy literally says shit like, “Under Kamala Harris, border patrol has seized more fentanyl than ever before” as if were expected to forget that drugs being seized is a GOOD thing – they are being seized – not let in.

Vance is slick but you have to be a rube to trust him

  2. Waltz is an asshole who lied about his military career in order to gain political favor

Vance is an asshole and an isolationist

Both suck and I dislike the people they are running under.

There is no lesser evil, both candidates are just stupid

  3. Fact checking post-debate is too little too late. It’s crazy to me that major news networks continue to broadcast debates without fact checks. They’re creating a platform that tolerates disinformation.

If a candidate won’t agree to a debate, interview, or campaign appearance because they don’t want to be fact checked, that is all we should need to say.

  4. Just read this and wanted to see if it was posted. It’s so bad that you can just say “this is bad because the Kamala Harris (who is not even president) is bad.” and the supporters will cheer even if it’s statistically untrue.

The economy is bad? The immigrants Kamala bussed in took our jobs and *checks notes* bought our homes?

The guns are bad? Kamala brought all the guns in over the border.

The healthcare is bad? We will keep protections in place (…that’s the ACA)

It’s like they just want to hear the other side is bad it doesn’t matter.

  5. Frustrating. It doesn’t matter. Republicans on tv or on line didn’t even talk about the Jan 6 answer, or the abortion answer ( Vance has clearly said his goal is to end abortion) or his prior views on Trump. They like how slick Vance is. They thought Walz lost, but were happy they were both respectful of each other.

People have already decided and are viewing who was truthful based on their decision.

Those who are undecided??? I can’t fathom. It’s not as if both parties believe in science and are debating which is the best policy.

What pisses me off is it comes down to a few electoral college states. The majority does not matter.

A few tens of thousands of people will decide the presidency and choose the supreme court justices.

Edit: spell check insists on Waltz instead of Walz.

  6. **- Energy and Climate Change**: JD Vance criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s energy policies, yet under this administration, the U.S. achieved record oil and natural gas production.
**- Immigration**: Vance’s claim that illegal immigrants are undercutting wages was fact-checked with data showing that immigrant labor has bolstered the workforce without displacing native-born workers.
**- Taxes**: Vance praised Trump’s 2017 tax cuts, but NPR pointed out that the cuts disproportionately benefited the wealthy and significantly increased the federal deficit.
**- Health Care**: Vance claimed Trump salvaged Obamacare, but NPR clarified that Trump’s administration worked to undermine the ACA.
**- Guns**: Vance’s claim that the U.S. has seen a massive influx of illegal guns from Mexico was fact-checked, with evidence showing the smuggling route primarily runs from the U.S. into Mexico.
**- China**: Walz admitted to misspeaking about his presence during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989. While he had a long relationship with China, his actual trips began after the protests.

  7. so another used car salesman but trump is at the shitty family run one at vance is at the high end corporate one

  8. TLDR Vance lied and misrepresented facts extensively while Waltz got mixed up on his travel itinerary by a couple months over a decade ago

  9. HereForTheComments57 on

I’m sorry, but I was thinking they were doing all of Vance’s comments then going into Walz’s. I expected to see multiple fact checks on Vance, but the only thing they found wrong for Walz was he was a few weeks off about a trip he took 35 years ago?????!!!!!!! Unfortunately this will not be discusses on Newsmax or Fox, but it is pretty damning.

  10. Glittering_Lunch_776 on

Ugh. I got barely one paragraph into the real meat of the article before getting hit with ad after ad. Closed it immediately.

I already know Vance lied 100% of the time on anything meaningful. That’s all I need to know to continue to dismiss MAGA as the worst in history.

  11. harrywrinkleyballs on

Immigrants, whether documented or not, are not the cause of the housing shortage. Walz hit the nail on the head when he said it’s corporations buying up SFHs.

  12. The conservatives don’t mind being lied to. Vance even admitted he was lying… and conservatives shrugged. Liberals seem to be the only ones who care about truth.

  13. MagnumbyZoolanderTM on

Imagine making stories up to get attention.  I love that this article was *almost* solely fact-checking the *weirdo* in the room.  Bravo!

  14. This is crazy…. why is this solely focused on Vance? Not ONE checks Waltz response. Isn’t this suspicious?!

  15. ChaseThoseDreams on

I hate that they agreed to no fact checking during this debate. Walz was not equipped enough to shoot down JD’s deluge of lies and misrepresentation. And frankly it is negligence on the media’s part to allow JD Vance who is way too polished with lying to be given free reign especially knowing his track record.

  16. Kind-City-2173 on

Some of those discussion group people were so embarrassing. They struggled to speak and couldn’t say anything of substance. We need more focus on public speaking classes in middle, high school, and college

  17. absolutelynotagoblin on

So, to boil this down, Vance lied about every question while Tim Walz ‘couldn’t remember that one time in China 30 years ago.’

Yeah, it’s roughly the same. /s
