I will assume the same way lies about elections lead to violent insurrections. Or, the same way lies about books lead to threats against librarians. The same way lies about infectious diseases lead to increased infection and death rates. The same way lies about LGBTQ+ people lead to self-harm, addiction and suicide epidemics in parts of those communities. The same way lies about abortion distort the reality of reproductive healthcare to the point that people *vote* for letting women die outside emergency rooms. The same way lies about prescription pain medication can help devastate communities already hit by brain drain and eventually lead to lies about immigrants eating pets in those communities.
