If you want real answers: I heard from ~20 acquaintance people (half of them doesn’t even liberal) that they were sad about it. It’s not like he had any chances to change anything recently, but it’s like last symbol of opposition massacred.

I think nobody would be surprised and some people would say it was expected. It seems like Navalny’s time of public support came and went and over time more people reflected on him and the entire situation with Russia and figured, shit is fucked either way. Once the war started Navalny really felt like he slipped into irrelevance
