  1. The geographic isolation of populations is how new languages come to be, a process similar to speciation. In other words, the multitude of languages isn’t premeditated and it doesn’t have a particular function.

    On the contrary to being functional, the multitude of languages is very detrimental. It’s an obstacle to communication, and it reinforces our tribal psychological adaptations, leading to seeing each other as strangers, fueling hatred.

    We can now conserve languages very well using machine learning algorithms as a historical souvenir. Other than that, we should do the opposite of trying to push language diversity.
