  1. That’s a good project. People will talk about the town and its management positively. The loss is not significant. It’s about 3 loonies per capita. It is also not a bad case of business. They did make sales better than their estimate.

    >Staff estimated in an April 2023 report that depending on ticket sales and the result of grant applications and sponsorships, the event could have left the town with a bill of up to $370,000 in the worst-case scenario. In a best-case scenario, it would break even.

    If they were only out $140k it seems it went better than feared but not as well as hoped.

    If best case was breaking even it seems the focus was on secondary benefits the entire time.

    Okay, so it costs significantly less than one federal MP’s salary (even before benefits & pension) and is probably more worthwhile than some backbench crony. 

  4. I’d rather get to see some cool Lego than have an LRT that doesn’t work if it is too hot, too cold, or too busy.
