So people broadly hate Project 2025. They understand that it is a playbook for how to replace American democracy with fascism, a kind of techno-fascism where billionaires control workers. The problem is that Democrats and independents are willing to blame Trump for this and see that despite his denials, he is absolutely on board with Project 2025’s aims. MAGA supporters on the other hand, don’t like its aims but are in a state of cognitive dissonance about it. They refuse to admit that Trump has anything to do with Project 2025. “But he’s denied having anything to do with it!”
I believe Trump’s denials about as much as I believe a used car salesman.

Has there ever been a policy in the history of American politics that was viewed positively by only 4% of the population? A policy promising to infect half the country with Ebola would poll better than that.
At first I thought the Heritage Foundation had some trick up their sleeve when they released it almost 2 years before the election, but now I think they may genuinely be so out of touch with average American voters that they thought no one would notice or care how awful it was.
And Trump didn’t even try to distance himself from it, instead he picked Project 2025’s #1 cheerleader as his running mate lol.

> Voters who identify as "MAGA Republicans" reported viewing Project 2025 in a slightly more positive light, with 28% saying they held a negative view of the proposal and another 9% saying they view the plan positively.

It was the conference where the Nazis planned out the bureaucratic details of the Holocaust. By this point, concentration camps already existed but they were running into obstacles.
One of the things that struck me most is that they studied their own soldiers and found that shooting Jews was having a negative effect on them. So, they devised ways to kill them that would remove the human agent from the process or minimize the amount of human contact needed.
Hitler was not at this conference and the notes taken during the conference purposely left out the gruesome details that were discussed face-to-face.

Popular opinion on R/con is that it’s a hoax perpetrated by Dems to scare voters.
Clearly they aren’t aware that the Heritage foundation drafts one of these manifestos every presidential cycle, going back *50 years*. Reagan implemented about 60% of the policies they had drawn up for him; similarly, Trump enacted 64% of the plan they wrote for him when he won in 2016, and by 2017 he had an extensive network of former or current employees of the Heritage Foundation working in governmental capacities.
Though they’ve changed their directive to be much more open and extreme about what they’re doing to suit Trump’s playstyle, they’ve been around a *long time*, and this is not new.
