Poll: Project 2025 is broadly known and severely unpopular with voters

  1. Ofc. It’s the literal definition of ‘deep-state’ come to life. Who wants to hear about a group that wants to take over the government by cabal, in broad daylight?

  2. Surely no one is going to vote for the guy who had hundreds of former staffers working on Project 2025, right?

  3. In before the MAGA trolls

“Never before has a figure with Roberts’s depth and stature within the American Right tried to articulate a genuinely new future for conservatism,” Vance wrote in the foreword, according to a copy of the text obtained by the New Republic. “The Heritage Foundation isn’t some random outpost on Capitol Hill; it is and has been the most influential engine of ideas for Republicans from Ronald Reagan to Donald Trump.”

  4. They don’t care that it’s unpopular, the plan is to force it through. You won’t have a choice.

  5. Imagine making something like Project 2025 public in any way and then when it is unpopular your reaction is *Surprise Pikachu Face*

    They really think we’re dumb

  6. calculating_hello on

Well has to be somewhat popular since Trump is still polling above 0% and the GOP still exists, single party fascist country has been their plan since the 80’s and they are still here.

  7. armchairmegalomaniac on

So people broadly hate Project 2025. They understand that it is a playbook for how to replace American democracy with fascism, a kind of techno-fascism where billionaires control workers. The problem is that Democrats and independents are willing to blame Trump for this and see that despite his denials, he is absolutely on board with Project 2025’s aims. MAGA supporters on the other hand, don’t like its aims but are in a state of cognitive dissonance about it. They refuse to admit that Trump has anything to do with Project 2025. “But he’s denied having anything to do with it!”

I believe Trump’s denials about as much as I believe a used car salesman.

  8. …and yet Trump’s projected vote total remains in the exact same 46%-47% range as 2016 and 2020.

It’s almost as if Hillary had a point calling these people irredeemable and severely underestimated by saying it’s only half, but we chased her with pitchforks over it regardless. We simply cannot handle the truth.

  9. I hope there is a good amount of TV ads warning that Trump and Vance are lying about not knowing about 2025.

  10. Has there ever been a policy in the history of American politics that was viewed positively by only 4% of the population? A policy promising to infect half the country with Ebola would poll better than that.

At first I thought the Heritage Foundation had some trick up their sleeve when they released it almost 2 years before the election, but now I think they may genuinely be so out of touch with average American voters that they thought no one would notice or care how awful it was.

And Trump didn’t even try to distance himself from it, instead he picked Project 2025’s #1 cheerleader as his running mate lol.

  11. > “I think it’s incredible that actually the biggest scandal of the year is a policy scandal … is Project 2025,” Buttigieg said on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” “Most people say elections aren’t really about policy anymore, but if you think about it, the biggest scandal, the one that actually has the Republicans the most afraid, the one that has the president doing damage control, it’s not a criminal cover up, although they had one of those too.”

    >“It’s not a sex tape,” Buttigieg continued. “It’s the simple fact that they wrote down their own policies. That is the thing that they might not recover from.”

  12. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/poll-project-2025-broadly-known-severely-unpopular-voters-rcna172660) reduced by 71%. (I’m a bot)

    > Nearly all voters who are familiar with Project 2025, a conservative policy road map that Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party have used to criticize former President Donald Trump, view the plan in a negative light, a new NBC News poll shows.

    > Voters who identify as "MAGA Republicans" reported viewing Project 2025 in a slightly more positive light, with 28% saying they held a negative view of the proposal and another 9% saying they view the plan positively.

    > Vice President Kamala Harris and other top Democrats have referred to the 900-page document, which was partly drafted by former Trump aides, as "Trump's Project 2025 Agenda," with party leaders forming the "Stop Project 2025 Task Force." Multiple speakers at the Democratic National Convention this summer lugged a textbook-sized copy of the plan onstage as they denounced it in speeches, and Harris name-checked it in her convention speech, too.

  13. Tell rural voters that NOAA is going away as part of Project 2025 and they’ll pause.

    That’s telling.

This is literally Trumps platform. Plug and play. Not like Trump has any convictions so he outsources his agenda and voila.

  15. Awwww is the media crying because they couldn’t burry Project 2025? Good! Those fucking cocksuckers need to stop making this a horse race and do their fucking job for once!

Project 2025 = The Wannsee Protocol

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wannsee_Conference

    TL;DR

It was the conference where the Nazis planned out the bureaucratic details of the Holocaust. By this point, concentration camps already existed but they were running into obstacles.

One of the things that struck me most is that they studied their own soldiers and found that shooting Jews was having a negative effect on them. So, they devised ways to kill them that would remove the human agent from the process or minimize the amount of human contact needed.

Hitler was not at this conference and the notes taken during the conference purposely left out the gruesome details that were discussed face-to-face.

    Let’s not have a 2.0, please.

    VOTE!

  17. Beautiful-Aerie7576 on

Popular opinion on R/con is that it’s a hoax perpetrated by Dems to scare voters.

Clearly they aren’t aware that the Heritage foundation drafts one of these manifestos every presidential cycle, going back *50 years*. Reagan implemented about 60% of the policies they had drawn up for him; similarly, Trump enacted 64% of the plan they wrote for him when he won in 2016, and by 2017 he had an extensive network of former or current employees of the Heritage Foundation working in governmental capacities.

Though they’ve changed their directive to be much more open and extreme about what they’re doing to suit Trump’s playstyle, they’ve been around a *long time*, and this is not new.

  18. Those who support Project 2025 are–among so many other things–an embarrassment to Christians everywhere.
