  1. >Bloc House Leader Alain Therrien said Tuesday he anticipates there could be **between five and seven non-confidence votes** before Christmas alone, and the fact there’s time yet to vote down the government is one reason his party is supporting it for now.

Oh man, four months of Poilievre begging for his carbon tax election

  2. The NDP are such fucking morons. It’s obvious that the Bloc was going to keep the Liberals around for at least a little while. The NDP had the opportunity to further separate themselves from the Liberals and make another party the bad guys, and they dropped the ball so hard.

  3. Not exactly surprising.

The NDP are staring into the abyss poll-wise while the Bloc has a golden opportunity to put the screws to the Liberals.

The Bloc will get far more of their agenda done in the next few months than the NDP did during the entire supply and confidence agreement.

The Bloc’s and the NDP’s positions, and choices not to bring the government down yet, have by-election consequences.

The *Cloverdale—Langley City* federal riding is required by law to have a by-election writ issued **on November 30th at the latest**, and the election date must be no later than January 13th.

So, unless Trudeau wants campaigning during the holidays, the writ should likely be issued somewhere from mid-October to early November if the by-election occurs before the end of the year.

Now, from 5 to 7 non confidence votes are expected before Christmas. The government could fall at any moment, even if I think it is unlikely that the NDP will cause the government to fall this year. Also, who wants an election campaign going through the holidays?

The *Cloverdale—Langley City* by-election could have its writ issued, but then the government could fall during the by-election campaign, which adds to uncertainty.

Also, the USA election will occur on November 5th, and its consequences could affect the Canadian politics in a major way, and the by-election itself, if the by-election occurs in the first place.

*Cloverdale-Langley City* is currently labelled CPC safe (>99% chance) on 338Canada : a **CPC gain seems like a formality**. After two horrible by-election losses in the spawn of three months, do the Liberals want another hard reminder of their growing impopularity?

Singh: “Justin Trudeau has proven again and again he will always cave to corporate greed. The Liberals have let people down. They don’t deserve another chance from Canadians,””

Also Singh: keeps Trudeau in power.
