Ah yes, blame Google and Facebook for the riots and just ignore the underlying issues that have created the conditions that have resulted in riots being triggered over disinformation.
There’s always going to be disinformation online, it’s one of the negatives that comes along with all the benefits that the internet provides. A well run country that isn’t having a culture war on multiple fronts over multiple issues wouldn’t be susceptible to a few tweets sparking violence, it’s worrying that our culture secretary doesn’t understand that the contents of a few tweets aren’t the real issue.
