Ah, yes, take control of S400 away from Turkey. I would be surprised if Erdogan can swallow his pride and accept that condition.

Has NATO as a whole had a chance to examine Turkey’s system in detail? Article says it is just sitting in storage so I’d love to know if Turkey had to agree to not allow engineers from other countries examine the hardware in order to purchase the system.

Man, the US really dropped the ball on this affair, the entire “let’s use the F35 to beat Turkey into submission for buying Russian equipment” gambit really backfired. Only thing it ended up doing is turbocharging their own stealth jet program, which Turkey will now sell to every despot in the region who cant buy an F35. And from the looks of it, Turkey will eventually end up getting the F35 anyways, so they get the best of both worlds.

That is not a good deal.

… on the Polish border with Ukraine, to shoot down Russian missiles 😉

Funny, a US/NATO operated S-400….
Did anybody call this one ahead of time?

…still not worth it, nothing stopping them just handing our latest aircraft to Russia/China.
They also dont seem to align with the west in supporting Ukraine giving just 0.009% of their GDP towards the cause.

Allow f35 so they can yank it away next time turkey misbehaves

Sounds like a good way for a S400 to fall into the hands of NATO to be researched. I’m sure one or two of them was just “destroyed in a training accident.”

I mean do turkey think that the US will just allow them to test an s400 vs f35.

I’m surprised Turkey is still hanging on to those, considering their performance in the Ukraine war.

My instant response to this is: LOL
Putin made such a big deal about driving a wedge between Türkiye and the west with those dumb things only to have their “premiere” tech fall into our hands anyway🤷♂️. Womp womp!

HUGE mistake !
Turkey under Erdogan simply can’t be trusted.
Erdo’s ideology is identical to other Islamo fascists’terrorists such as Hamas, Hizbollah and the Iranian ayatollahs.
If and when the stuff hits the fan, he will become NATO’S fifth column.

Didn’t they already develope a 5th gen fighter? Wouldn’t that be a waste if they rejoin the F35 program?

No fucking way would I give Turkey access to any of our weapons or technology. Absolutely zero fucking chance.

Yes give turkey more tools to bomb Kurdish kids .

Part of me thinks it has to do with S-400 system comms potentially gathering data on the F-35 to send back to the Russians or another non-friendly actor.

This is a fascinating story. What is the reputation of the Greek newspaper Kathimerini, that published it? There are so many possible reasons to leak something like this.
