So. Love it or hate it – what’s the solution?

Do we want to fill hospitals with people who don’t need to be in hospitals?

I understand that people don’t want to go to different homes for a variety of reasons – but figure those situations out AFTER you are out of the hospital.

This just seems like common sense to me.

No. You can’t live in the hospital until your preferred home becomes available.

  2. These are discharged patients using hospitals as a hotel.

Taking up beds and healthcare resources for people that need them.

  3. Experts: You could increase funding for healthcare and stop privatization so funding can be spent more efficie…

Ford: I’m gonna stop you right there. How about we kick them out or shove them in my friends LTC homes and give them money?

    Experts: … That’s a terrible ide…

Ford: I’m SUCH a genius! The best part is, most moron voters won’t care, even if it happens to them or their family. If you need me I’ll be at my cottage but don’t call me cause I don’t feel like working! WOOOO!!!

The number of beds being utilized to care for people who do not need them is incredible and one of the major reasons our system is crippled

Right now the wait for a long term care home is long. If you are in retirement age then you should get onto the list for the one you want to be in. The wait time for your preferred place may be 5 years or longer. When they call and say they have a room for you.. you can ask to remain on the list.

But waiting till the last minute when you need a spot desperately.. well it sucks but you have to take what is available because the hospital is not the place to take up a bed when you don’t need to be in the hospital.

Thanks to our healthcare system we are all screwed, but you and your family can plan ahead.
